These blankets are handmade by the indigenous people of the Andes Mountains in Ecuador’s Otavalo City. As such, Little Otavalo uses Alpaca wool because of its elegant fibres, which are warmer, lighter, and stronger than cashmere. When Maria moved to Canada she began her business sharing her passion of native textiles here in Canada.

These blankets from the Andes are light and gentle to the touch. Perfected through craft over the years this blanket provides warmth and comfort for even the coldest of nights. A perfect gift for the holidays.

Do you find standard wool blankets to be scratchy? Alpaca wool is hypoallergenic, which makes it the opposite of itchy — rather, alpaca wool feels soft and warm against the skin. To achieve that key balance of comfort and warmth, Little Otavalo uses a blend of Alpaca 40% and Acrylic 60% in every blanket.

Colours may vary slightly from the photo quality.

Size: Queen/King (7.8' X 6.6')
Material: 40% Alpaca, 60% Acrylic
